Midway Islands
The Midway Islands are a territory of the United States of America and are protected as a national wildlife refuge (fws.gov WM).
Marine molluscs known only from Midway include a turban snail Bolma midwayensis (WMSDB), Gymnobela midpacifica (ResearchGate), Goriella dalli (schweizerbart.de), and the top shells Omphalotukaia hajimeana (WMSDB) and Calliotropis (or Omphalotukaia) midwayensis (TELDAP WM).
Other invertebrates that have been collected solely from
Midway include the extinct Midway Noctuid Moth Agrostis fasciata (Wikipedia),
a
long-legged fly Dactylomyia
vockerothi (GBIF) (Bishop
Museum WM pdf), a spider crab Oxypleurodon coralliophilum

a copepod Paramisophria
walteri (PLAZI), a sponge Thoosa midwayi

and mites from non-endemic species
including Neoschoengastia

and Neotrombicula
megensi (Oxford). Squat lobsters known only from Midway include Sternostylus
