Sint Eustatius
Insects
restricted to Sint Eustatius include several crickets: Hapithus minutus (GBIF),
Hapithus maculata (GBIF),
and
Cyrtoxipha
orientalis (MNHN).
Other endemic invertebrate include a grasshopper Lactista eustatia (OSF)
(BioOne),
a robber fly Efferia exaggerata (GBIF),
a pseudoscorpion Pachyolpium confusum (GBIF) (Internet Archive),
and a land snail Glyphyalus
quillensis (ResearchGate).
The
Statia
Milkweed Gonolobus
aloiensis (DCNA)
(iNaturalist)
is known only from Sint Eustatius. The Statia
Morning Glory Ipomoea
sphenophylla (POWO) which had been
considered endemic has recently been found on
Saint Barthelemy (p. 2 of ATE
pdf).
Marine algae known only from Sint Eustatius includes Stichothamnion antillarum
(Semantic
Scholar).
Sint
Eustatius
is
included in the
Caribbean Islands biodiversity hotspot (Biodiversity Hotspots WM) and is a special
municipality of the Netherlands.
